If you know me personally, you know how passionate I am about serving and caring for others. I have always wanted to attend a mission trip, but unfortunately I have never been able to come up with the funds to do so. Timing is never perfect, and now as a recent graduate, my limited resources compounded with crippling student loan debt and the daily struggle of opening a small business weigh heavily on my mind and the decision to drop everything to serve those much less privileged. There is always an excuse NOT to do something, however this year, I have decided that I cannot let any of those doubts get in my way of fulfilling my higher purpose.
As a chiropractic student, I helped develop and grow Logan University’s Women’s Leadership Council, which is an organization that provides students with the encouragement, motivation, and business skills to become confident leaders in their communities. I was EXTREMELY honored when the members asked me be a part of this service trip as one of their mentors!!! I will be traveling to Ecuador with 10 chiropractic students to provide chiropractic care, as well as education on nutrition and the prevention of injuries and back pain. As you may know, low back pain is the single leading cause of disability WORLDWIDE and experts estimate that 80% of the population will experience a back problem at some point in their lives. Our goal is to change these statistics, one adjustment at a time. We will be serving at the Fundación Médica, in Quito, Ecuador from August 25th – September 3rd and need your help to get there!
We intend to raise $10,000, enough funds to provide 6 days of treatment. My part of the team goal is $2,000 and I am hoping you can support me in this effort. This money will go toward transportation, housing accommodations, and clinic placements for the volunteers. Your donation will be directly linked to the treatment of those needing our care. Any additional funds raised beyond our goal will go to help those who need it most!
As a special offer through my own clinic, I will be personally donating all new patient exam fees(through August 1st) toward our mission.
